Make One Thing a Day for a Year

Starting now, January 9th, I'm going to make something each day for 365 days. I've had a creative surge lately and have been crafting up a storm. So I've decided I'm going to try and keep it going for all of 2011. Today I have a few more crocheted cuffs to finish up, so that will be my "thing" for today.
Waiting in the wings I have some scarflets from last year that I am going to update with beaded embellishments, yarn that I'm going to make a few knitted bowls, two shadow boxes to complete, and mosaic tiles from our trip to Greece that I'm going to make a mosaic ornament out of, and that's just off the top of my head.

My goal in this Craft-a-thon is to "train" my creativity. Athletes exercise their muscles and crafters exercise their creativity.

What's the point? To put it simply, to be creative. To encourage myself to keep it up.

One of my goals is to open my own store, or at least own a space where I can display and sell my work, even if it isn't my own store. And I want everything in the store (space) to be made by me. So perhaps I'm working on my future store's inventory. A girl can dream, right? And in the meantime, I will be exercising my creativity.

Here's a photo of what I'm working on today ...

Speaking of exercise, time for me to go on my long run today using my NEW IPOD NANO that my husband got me for an early birthday present! I also got the Nike Sport kit so it can keep track of my run. It's pretty much awesome. Here's hoping it makes this 8 mile run a little easier! By the way, I am TOTALLY getting the super cool watch band too.

Happy Sunday to you all. What goals are you working towards this year? Dream big!

  2. Well, I'm not going to backtrack. I didn't start until yesterday either :-) Start with a clean slate, day 1 is whatever day you begin!

  5. Thanks Chloe! @Southern Fried Gal, I'm working on it - one thing a day. It's easy to do while my creativity is flowing, but we'll see what happens when that starts to wane!
