This weekend I set up a booth at the Frogtown Hollow Bluegrass Festival. It was beautiful weather and a great way to enjoy being outside and enjoying the pulse of the festival, surrounded by kids, people, root beer, friends and music. My sales were decent, but it was a lot of work. Overall I was happy as I wanted to go to this festival anyways. My sales paid for 3 entries, a couple of beers each day, food, the booth fee, another trip to Michael's for more supplies today, and a little extra to spare. Time to get my ledger going so I can start making this a "real business" that does not exist "in the red".
In another post I'll write about my lessons learned from this outdoor vending experience, but for now enjoy a few photos!
All in all, it sounds successful. My mom does craft fairs and sometimes I do them with her, you are right when you say A LOT of work!
ReplyDeleteIt was successful! I think the key is to choose a craft fair where you can have FUN at the event itself. And family and friends to help and come say hello are a DEFINITE help :-)
