Contaminating the Crime Scene

If you saw my previous post, then you saw what a wonderful weekend I had with friends. And if you and your friends are anything like me and mine, we upload our photos to facebook and say things like, "This is totally going on Facebook!"
We joke about it, but it's actually true!

Maybe it's because it's our way of sharing our weekends with our husbands (who are all deployed) and show them what we've been up to. What's even funnier, is that they sometimes know what we've been up to before we actually get to talk to our hubbies because they see our photos!

Where am I going with this ... oh yeah.

Before we went to dinner Friday night my friend Amber came over to pick me up.
I was pretty excited to have a reason to wear my FABULOUS shoes that I mentioned in this post.
I didn't even realize it until the photos were posted to facebook the next day, and another friend & blog extraordinaire pointed out that the MURDER SCENE was in the photos showing off my FABULOUS SHOES! I had contaminated the crime scene!

Well I thought that was pretty hilarious! Although the crime scene was evident in the Friday night photos, I MADE myself scoop up and throw out the dead cockroach on Saturday morning before the guests arrived at my house to meet before heading to Callaway gardens.

In all truth, I waited until the first guest arrived when I was reluctantly reminded it was time to buck up and be a man.

When's the last time you were forced to buck up and be a man ... do something you'd rather your hubby or someone else do?!

  1. That's too funny!

My husband just started working offshore, so he's away for 2 weeks out of the month.

So I'll just say my man duty has totally doubled here lately.
I mean I open my own tough lids off of jars, I cut the grass, I even had to unclog the toilet by myself.

    Babysteps.... ;)

  2. Love. those. shoes!!!

When I was about 8 1/2 months pg with Michaela Byrd, I climbed up on the counter and stabbed a huge spider with a knife b/c I was too freaked out to "touch" it through the paper towel, and T is an absolute WIMP about spiders. He'll kill just about anything else (really), but spiders freak him out. I had to man up.

  3. Thanks for sharing!
Courtney, you're right, it's baby steps.
Baby step 1 was killing the thing.
Baby step 2 was throwing in away.
They just happened to be days apart!

Amanda, that is crazy! I've met several people lately who are deathly afraid of spiders. Those are easier for me to squash than cockroaches!

    Thanks for sharing!

  4. I definitely killed a giant misquito type bug last night with one of Calebs toys. It was so awful. Then I had to wash his toy real good, which was double awful!!! Next on my list, getting rid of the wasp nest that I discovered yesterday!!! I definitely am NOT looking forward to that one!
