What to Watch this Weekend: God Grew Tired of Us

Last night my husband and I watched a documentary/memoir titled God Grew Tired of Us. It follows some of the Lost Boys of Sudan and is an UNBELIEVABLE, epic & true tale.
Of life. Of perseverance. Of hope.

You will be inspired by John Bul Dau, one of the Lost Boys of Sudan as he and the other lost boys remind of what life is really about.

*****
Don't ever take anyone at face value because you don't know their journey.

You'll remember that EVERY PERSON has a story to tell.
Even that stranger in the grocery store.

Here's a trailer for the movie in case you're curious.
But I almost recommend you skip the trailer and just watch the movie.

Just like with Sarah Kay, this is another instance where I just had to share.
This isn't a new film, only newly discovered to me.

I hope you'll be as inspired as I was.

  1. When I was in college, I had several classes with a Sudanese Lost Boy. One day, our international politics professor had him speak to our class of 400. He captivated our attention much better than our professor ever could. He told stories about escaping to refugee camps and seeing family members laying dead on the way there...
I had heard of this movie but haven't watched it; I will most definitely check it out.
