Happy Holidays! It's been a while ...

Greetings from North Carolina! I've been a little out of touch since my last post but since Thanksgiving we've been in Paris, Athens, Santorini, and spent the Holidays in North Carolina with family. In a few days we're headed to Asheville, NC then to the mountains of North Georgia to spend New Year's with friends.
It's been quite a whirlwind month, but I can't wait to get back to our little home in Columbus to get crafting. The inspiration has been flowing and I'm ready to make some new items!

Truth be told we only had layovers in Paris and Athens, but spend enough time in the international airports and you'll see all sorts of looks and fashions from around the world. I'm inspired by how women from other parts of the world aren't afraid to be "daring" in their fashion.

Either way, having a month off from "making things" has me ready to restock my store with some new items.

Here's a few photos from our trip to Santorini - complements of my husband.

How can I not be inspired when I spent a week here?

In other news, while we were in Greece, Dooney & Bourke's 12 Deals of Christmas came out. Why is that relevant? Because my sweater pillows were featured in the product shots! It was so much fun to see my pillows attached with such a big name! I've been asked how it came about and the story is pretty random and cool.

I mentioned about the custom order in this post but out of the blue a couple of months ago, I had received an etsy conversation from someone asking about a large custom order of pillows. At the time there were no pillows listed in my shop, but she had found me from an old blog post where I had made several.
I said yes, and then found out they were going to be used for Dooney & Bourke's holiday campaign, and that they would also be featured in the window displays for their retail stores. I was quite happy about having her stumble across my old blog post about the sweater pillows and happy that a big brand took a chance on a "little person" like me!

Anyways, here's a few of the photos they used, you can see all of them on their facebook page, but maybe you even received their emails!

In other news, you can find a tutorial on how to make a ribbon bead necklace in the January issue of her magazine!

Be on the lookout for the February issue too, you'll find a "how to" on how to make a "Boyfriend Pillow" - aka Sweater Pillow - for Valentine's day!

As you can see, I've been a busy bee. I hope you've all had a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year to come!
