Year in Review

Wow.
It's almost been a year since I began my "Operation Keep Busy".
Looking back on this past year, I'm pretty proud of all that I've accomplished. If I must say so myself, I did a pretty darn good job of keeping busy and motivated while my husband was deployed.

I'm able to cross a lot off my self-implemented To Do list:
It started almost immediately after the husband left as I had a week to prepare for the GRE's, then applied to grad school!
So, I started by crossing #1 off my list-

* I Completed 1 semester of grad school in Community Counseling - received all A's!

* I participated in 4 craft shows, sold some jewelry to 1 local business here in GA, and have my jewelry in 2 locations now in North Carolina. I have also been selling my jewelry on Saturdays at the local farmer's market for the past several months, and set up a facebook page for Mississippi Mud.

Trunk show at Swank in Southern Pines, NC, where I currently sell my designs.

My little set-up on Saturday's at market!

An epic fail of a "craft show" in Phenix City.

A 2-day craft show at the Frogtown Holler Bluegrass Festival!

St. Anne's Craft Show

The Mistletoe Market

* I ran a 10k at Thanksgiving, my 2nd 1/2 marathon in Chicago this summer, and just this past Sunday completed my longest triathlon to date (1k swim, 30k bike, 8k run).

Waiting to start - at the Callaway Garden's Triathlon.

Me and my ND college roomies at the 13.1 Chicago 1/2 marathon.

Looking good after our Turkey Trot! I'm taking the pic, but running a 10k before Thanksgiving feels pretty darn good!

* I've lost 10 lbs since the start of the year (which puts me back at my "normal weight" - I had gained 10 lbs in the summer before my husband left because of all our vacations, and moving around, and hotel hopping, and lots of excuses)

* I did a little bit of traveling and spent time with family and friends: stayed in Charlotte NC over Thanksgiving and got to see all my family including the nieces and nephews, spent time with the folks (both sets) over Christmas, then 2 weeks at the beach over R&R with my husband and his family, 1 week in Chicago with college roommates, another week at the beach for a little family reunion, followed by another beach and NC roadtrip with a fellow army wife and friend from here. And just last week a group of us wives capped off the year with an overnight trip to Atlanta.

Now there's plenty I did NOT accomplish, but that doesn't matter at this point. I'm just so ready for my husband to come home!
Well, I better get going on my other to do list! My Time-To-Get-It-Done-Before-The-Husband-Comes-Home To Do list.

What's are your TO DO list? Either today's TO DO, or your life's TO DO?

Here's to happy crossing things off your lists! I've got the pen in my hand, do you have yours?
