Twenty - Ten

How cool would it be to turn Twenty-Ten in the year 20-10? When I first heard this year referred to as Twenty-Ten, that was my first thought! Alas, I will only turn 28 this year. This year will be the year I remember my age. Ever since 25, I forget how old I am. Sometimes I think 26, then I think 28. Seriously, what's my problem? Well, this year it won't be a problem. I am PROUD to be turning 28. That age just sounds mature, doesn't it?

Well, I though I would reflect on my Operation Keep Busy and include them as my New Year's Twenty-Ten, resolutions.

Let's see how Operation Keep Busy is going:
1. OPERATION DANCING QUEEN: Take a dance class.
Hasn't happened yet, but it will!

2. OPERATION LINGUIST: Study Spanish and french.
I forgot about this one! I have a friend who wants to brush up on French. Maybe we'll have French nights!

3. OPERATION JEWELRY - KY: Send more jewelry to the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft.
4. OPERATION JEWELRY - GA: Sell my jewelry and crafts locally.
Contacted Kentucky Musuem, they're interested in my crochet necklaces, I just need to make more!
Still need to follow up locally - but got my jewelry into a Southern Pines store!

5. OPERATION CRAFT: Participate in a craft show.
CHECK! Participated in two local craft shows with success!

6. OPERATION ALBUM: Update our photo albums.
CHECK! But I will continue to do so!

7. OPERATION MEMORIES: Make window boxes for David's OCS and basic training memorabilia.
8. OPERATION WRITING: Work on my writing and submit some articles to local magazines or writing contests.
In progress - just starting writing again and did some revisions on old work.

9. OPERATION MUD ROOM: Paint and "fix up" our mud room and laundry room.
10. OPERATION 10K: Run a 10k, MAYBE another 1/2 marathon.
CHECK! And in progress! Ran a 10K at Thanksgiving, and looking at another 1/2 marathon!

11. OPERATION GO TIME: Get more fit, stronger, and lose some of this extra weight!
CHECK! And in progress! Lost 5 pounds (had lost a little more, then the holidays came ....) but am working out more regularly!

12. OPERATION PULL UP: I've always wanted to do one!
Will this EVER happen?

13. OPERATION ETSY: Get better at listing stuff on my etsy site. I have a hard time with the follow through on this one.
Hmmm ... still not good. My store is still on "vacation mode"! But I DID sell 2 things from it recently!

14. OPERATION GRAD SCHOOL: Follow up on my grad school interest in counseling.
DONE! Took the GRE's, applied, and class starts Monday!

My biggest resolutions are to write more, continue with regular exercise, and do things that put me out of my comfort zone. This past Sunday I played a pick-up soccer game which was a big deal for me, considering how scarred I am from my high school soccer coach (not my JV coach). If you're out there, you know who you are and you were the worst coach in the world. Both my husband and I despise you. Moving on ... I also want to read more literature for fun, and read the lives of the Saints.

That's it! Happy Twenty-Ten! It's going to be a great year ... even though I won't turn twenty-ten, this is the year my HUBBY COMES HOME! No matter what else happens, that makes this year great to me!
