Today I feel nostalgic.
It started when I looked at a few photos from our Paris trip last summer, and was just remembering the moments. How we just lived in those moments and soaked up the beauty and the culture and the life of what was around us.
Like three years ago when we went ice skating Downtown Chicago the day after New Year's. And warmed up afterwards across the street over hot cocoa.
And the day we got married. After we were husband and wife, just soaking up the beauty of knowing we would be together, forever.
And Paris. How we walked to the Eiffel Tower just in time for the light show. We just sat there on the curb not saying a word, just watching.
And the sunsets in Santorini. How each time we looked at the horizon we were in awe at the beauty of the island and its history, remarking how we had never seen any place like this before.
I feel so blessed to have seen and experienced so many beautiful moments in my life.
I wish to see those moments in the everyday more often, And to soak them in no matter how fleeting they might be.
Like at nighttime, when my husband looks at me one last time before turning out the lights and just smiles. That is my everyday moment. One I'll never have a photo for, but will be in my mind forever.
What is one of your most precious everyday moments?
