Last night my husband and I had date night. Dinner & a movie followed by Barnes & Noble. He ate dinner at Moe's while I ate my dinner IN the movies. Yes, popcorn was my dinner. We saw The Fighter, and while for me the movie wasn't a "must see" it was still worth seeing because of the characters and their relationships. What was MORE fascinating was watching Christian Bale in a role I had never seen him in before. He played a former fighter turned crack addict (based on a true story) and he was UNBELIEVABLE. Seriously, through the whole movie I could not get over what an AWESOME job he was doing as an actor, and how TERRIBLE he looked. His acting was truly impressive. If you're a Christian Bale fan it's worth seeing just to watch his acting. And it was a based on a true story, which always makes for a more interesting film. Check out the trailer below.
Anyways, then we headed over to Barnes & Noble, each ordered a hot cocoa and armed with a stack of magazines sat and did our usual perusing. However, this time I picked up the local Columbus and the Valley Magazine to see my article in print!
My first published freelance article was for Valley Parent magazine, a free publication, but this is their "parent" magazine. I was pretty proud to see my article included in the magazine and my name in print, and just like a little kid who wants their A+ paper up on the fridge, I had my photo taken with my article.
Cheesy, I know. But whatever! You can read the entire article here.
I hope you're all having a great weekend! Time for me to get ready for another long run. Wish me luck! The 1/2 marathon is two weeks away! Eeeks!
