As I was about to head outside to do some yard work, I thought I'd catch up on my blog roll. That's when I came across Nina's post and learned the term fun-employed. How have I not heard this word before? It's GENIUS! I decided I'd share my summer goals while fun-employed, and taking a summer semester off from grad school.
1. Finish curtains for my bedroom.
2. Paint bedroom cream.
3. Paint & update a couple of pieces of furniture.
4. Re-organize our mudroom.
5. Try out some new crafts to sell at the Farmer's Market I participate in on Saturdays locally.
6. Go through my old poems/writings and rewrite. Then submit to various publications.
7. Sign up for & train for a triathlon - longer than sprint distance this time. There's one in September I might do!
8. Read more.
9. Shop once a week for groceries and focus on what's fresh and local.
10. Have a yard sale/garage sale.
11. Sell some of our goodies on ebay. (Anyone need a barely used webcam or motorcycle jacket & gear?)
12. Make a vegetable garden in our back yard.
13. Make several more contacts to sell my jewelry in stores.
14. Get my business license.
15. Sign up for bible study.
16. Sign up for Big Brothers Big Sisters locally. (I know this is going to sound really cheesy, but I've always wanted to, but after watching the Blind Side - corny, I know - I was again reminded this is something I really want to do, and since I'm fun-employed, I can!)
Thanks Nina for reminding me about my Summer To-Do list! What's on YOUR to do for the summer?
that is quite the to-do list. good work. :) i've got to create one, before my summer wastes away!
