The other day, my awesome photographer friend Meredith had Real Simple's, "What's Your Decorating Style?" quiz linked from her blog. I took the quiz and would agree with their assessment that my style is Vintage Eclectic.
"You go for history, quirks, and curves. A rich, layered look combining flea-market finds, furniture designs from various time periods, and a diverse collection of accessories and artwork appeals to you. Dusty colors, timeworn or handmade textiles, and collected objects create a lived-in feel. Think Paris flea markets, Granny’s teacups, the film Grey Gardens."
They suggested I try shopping at Anthropologie. You don't have to tell me to do that twice! Is there anybody who doesn't love that store? I took a few photos around the house, would you agree with them?
I have to point out the posters behind the couch are from Yee-Haw Industries. I bought them in college when Kevin Bradley came to Notre Dame to our design department do a letter-press workshop and I LOVE them. You can get buy them on Etsy here!
uh, i think i says something that you books are arranged by COLOR! Love it.
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious you picked up on that! I decided to organize them by color after seeing the bookshelf in the background of a friend's photo and thinking how disorganized they looked! I had them organized by book type, and realized that it was NOT aesthetically pleasing! Organization by color = much better!
ReplyDeleteYeah, we all love Anthropologie, and don't love the prices. It's the thrift store for me!
