Was I excited about the movie? Yes. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Will I look forward to the next movie? Yes.
But come on, the acting was overrated. Now before I wrote this, I double checked that I wasn't missing something and googled movie reviews - just as I google everything, to see if I was alone in this sentiment.
According to Rotten Tomatoes, the consensus is "The Twilight Saga's second installment may satisfy hardcore fans of the series, but outsiders are likely to be turned off by its slow pace, relentlessly downcast tone, and excessive length." And the Huffington Post quoted similar reviews.
Now I'm not trying to be Debbie-Downer, but I was disappointed. I thought it could have been so much better - simply on the acting scene. You don't have to mumble and bat your eyes to get the point across. I suppose they played the stereotype of the moody, love depraved, angst ridden teenager pretty well.
I just was disappointed to see Bella and Edward acting oh-so Emo.
Next time, Bella - get some damn Visine. And to the both of them - quite your muffled mumbling. It's so unbecoming to a vampire.
