Today is our 2 week home owner's Anniversary! Hard to believe it's only been that long since so much has happened since then!
I worked Mom to death and she helped me move in, oversee the movers, and unpack boxes, and remedy little situations, like the kitchen cabinet caving in. I don't know what I would have done without her!

Exit mom, enter Hubby . . .

The Hubby made it home safe and sound that Friday and we spent all weekend living in our new home and eating HOME COOKED MEALS, in OUR HOME!

Then the in-Laws came this past weekend to visit and see our little home. They too were a huge help in the yard, we sure did clean things up, plant some flowers, and make the yard look even better than it already is!

One bad discovery . . . the barn has RATS! This has been such a pain. First of all the previous owners left a lot of stuff behind in the barn. I don't think I even realized how much until Hubby and I started cleaning it out. That's when we discovered rats. I think the cleaning out and trimming of bushes and nearby brush will help, we're on hold with the rest of the rat problem for now.

Then . . . Hubby booked tickets TO FRANCE!!! We're going to Paris the last week of August, first week of September and we're so excited! Staying in Paris for several nights, renting a car and driving to Normandy, taking some D-day tours, and exploring everything!

In an effort to get rid of some of our unnecessary items we've accumulated over the years between the two of us, and make a little extra cash money for the trip, we're having a YARD SALE on Saturday! I don't know why I'm excited about it, but I am!
I even made some home-made laundry detergent I've been dying to try, and hope to sell some at the sale.

Here's the recipe I tried:
2 cups finely grated soap
1 cup borax
1 cup washing soda
Mix and store in closed container.
1 - 1 1/2 tablespoons will do a load (half if you have HE washers)

I kind of get the feeling like I did before the Elf Fair, where I was so excited at all the possibilities of everything I would sell, I keep reminding myself of that, and am trying to not get too excited! I mean come on, it's just a yard sale :-)

Oh, and I passed on the Goodwill Industries interview, and another offer for a position with a local business, timing just isn't right, so I'm holding out for now.

That's it and soon I will post pictures too!
